Overview

SmartPacker T1 is a single-SKU container loading calculator. You enter the inner dimensions of your loading space (container, pallet, or box) and the dimensions of your carton. The app calculates the maximum number of cartons that fit, and generates an optimised 3D loading plan.

Useful for:

  • Maximising carton count in a full container load (FCL)
  • Finding the minimum space a fixed quantity requires (LCL mode)
  • Testing carton design tolerances before finalising packaging
  • Exploring how dimension changes affect total load

Entering Dimensions

Use the input panel to set:

  • Space dimensions — inner Length, Width, and Height of your container or pallet
  • Carton dimensions — Length, Width, and Height of the carton

All number fields support mouse scroll to increment or decrement values — no need to retype for quick comparisons.

3D Viewer

The viewer shows the loading plan as a 3D diagram. The plan is broken into groups — each group is a block of cartons in a consistent orientation.

  • Toggle groups on/off using the checkbox list
  • Drag to rotate 360°
  • Mouse scroll to zoom in/out

Orientation markers on each carton:

  • Green triangle — front face
  • White triangle — side face

What-If Controls

Use the scroll controls to answer questions like "what if the container height is 5 cm less?" or "what if the carton is 10 mm wider?" — the plan updates in real time.

LCL / Fixed Quantity Mode

If you have a fixed number of cartons (common in LCL shipments), enter the quantity and instruct the app to find the minimum space required. Choose to optimise for minimum height, width, or length depending on your loading constraints.

Vary Quantity

Increase or decrease the carton quantity to observe how the loading pattern evolves. This helps you find the most efficient quantity to ship — useful when you have some flexibility in order size.

Tips

  • Always use the inner dimensions of the container, not external
  • Add a few mm of tolerance for real-world carton deformation
  • Use scroll controls to quickly sweep through a range of sizes
